About Me

My name is Sandra Lorena Rios. I was born on October 29, 1980 in Palmira Valle, Colombia, and I came to the United States at the age of eighteen.
I had my father, mother and two sisters waiting for me when I first came to the United States.I have four sisters. My older sister Claudia and her son live in Spain. Another one, Paola, lives in Boston, and I live here with my other two sisters; Angelica and Yamile. We are close in age so we enjoy a lot being together although our personalities are very different.

I am a very kind and honest person. I am friendly, but making new friends has always been difficult for me because I have been hurt a lot. That is why I think that true friends are almost impossible to find.

I love to paint and have always enjoyed playing with computers. I like to work out, to dance, to play guitar, and to play basketball. I also like to study a lot.
To me, gaining knowledge and helping others gain it is very important. That is why I decided to become a Student Technology Mentor; to help students as well as faculty that do not know how to use technology, learn it. It is very satisfactory for me when I see others learning from me.I will be graduating from LaGuardia Community College in Spring 2005 with a degree in New Media Technology. After I graduate, I plan to go to city college to study Computer Engineering. I'd also like to continue studying so I can obtain a doctorate. In my future, I see myself as a professor of a prestigious university and working for a big company.

I think I have shared enough things about me in this page. I hope you enjoy navigating the rest of my web page. : )
