REFLECTION:

Assessment and evaluation tools are introduced in this class. Administration of assessment tools are taught such as the Kohlman Evaluation of Living Skills (KELS) and Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile. Documentation is incorporated in this class. Initially it was frustrating because one is not accustomed to writing notes in a certain format (SOAP). One has to rewrite notes several times until it was in the correct format. NO jargon words, NO white-out or errasures and NO wrong spelling. However, when one gets the hang of it, it becomes second nature. Collaboration is encouraged in this class to simulate the role of a team player. Leading and co-leading simulated groups with various psychosocial dysfunction is simply a fun and superb way of acquiring leadership skills.
