Since I began attending LaGuardia Community college, as a fine arts major, pursuing a career in art has always been my goal. Being so fascinated with how media has changed art over the years, I believe it creates more possibilities for careers. Art is being used everywhere, we see it when we are traveling, even at home on television.
I started out like any other artist, tracing comics or characters of my interest. In high school, there was always that one art class that was my escape from the pressures of reality. Only when I've started to pursue it at LaGuardia, I began to realize the meaning of it. I realized, like poetry, art is a way to send messages.
There are many steps towards achieving my goal, but the most important is practice. It is impossible for someone to improve without practice. Practice would involve change, always being able to experiment, being innovative. Time that I would spend for this step would be limitless, because an artist should practice everyday. Another step would be updating knowledge on computers software used for graphics. This would involve me reading about them.
Sacrifices that I would have to make now, are my other interest, abandoning all other objectives and personal life.
Working towards my goal will change my life, by allowing me to be more open minded. Because what bosses require may not be what I agree with. In order to be able to compose art that I disagree with, I would have to be more open-minded.
