  • §        Conducted research on girls trafficking from Nepal to Indian              cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkatta.
  • §         Conducted extensive research on causes of girls trafficking               responsible for Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot and                                          
                 Makawanpur Districts out of 75 administrative districts
                  of   Nepal as sample.
  • §        Visited victim girls and provided support to them.
  • §        Testified on 19 June 2002 before the Committee on
  •              International Relation, United States House
                 Representatives in full hearing on Foreign Government
                Complicity in Human Trafficking.

 

 Eastern Region Coordinator, INHURED International, Kathmandu, Nepal 1998– 2002           

     Worked on the founding of women and development programs,              and anti-Trafficking efforts, through INHURED since itsformation              in Nepal in 1992.

 

§         Worked in a dozen remote villages leading women’s meetings

§         Researched in each of the major INHURED sectors:  human rights, women, children, and law, filing reports after each village visit

§         Informed local village women about Nepal’s human rights laws

§         Used dance, songs and theater to express anti-trafficking messages

§         Collaborated with local, semi-literate women center leaders

§         Ensured women participation on decision making and implementation of physical infrastructure projects supported by Food for Work Project

§         Cared for thirty-two girls intercepted from at-risk living situations, helped girls with schooling, household management, security, and counseled them through their difficult stages.  Conducted extensive field studies, leading trafficking research teams to high-risk villages throughout Nepal.
