I am obtaining an associate's degree in Liberal Arts: Social Science and Humanities at La Guardia Community College. I am a transfer student from Brooklyn College, where I was studying Psychology. I have been interested in this field since I was in high school. I have many career goals I would like to accomplish. My short-term goals are to graduate from La Guardia Community College with associate's degree in Liberal Arts in fall, 2006. I would not only like to have knowledge and experience in one specific area, such as Liberal Arts, but also in business, economics and finance. So my mid-term goal is to obtain bachelor's degree in Psychology at Hunter College and then attend graduate school. My long-term career goals are to become a Psychologist, to get a job in a healthcare industry and eventually develop my own practice.

I am a very expressive person who enjoys social interaction and working with others in a cooperative environment. When handling information I tend to be realistic and practical especially with facts and details. When making decisions I rely on past experiences and like methods that have been proven and established procedures. I prefer to have flexibility in the working environment. I can adapt to changes easily and prefer to keep my options open. Starting new projects is always exciting to me.

My strongest skills are my ability to be social, analytical, and leading. Being social is essential to the field I want to purse because it plays an important role in counseling, teaching and helping others. It is important in assisting others to improve their physical health or psychological well- being and social skills gives you an advantage at helping others. My analytical skill is my ability to identify problems in the world around me. This is also helpful to my career goal because it allows me to do research to find solutions to problems whether it is in life, social, physical, or behavioral problems. Being a leader is essential in all fields especially psychology because it develops you into a motivated and organized individual. This allows you to be able to accomplish goals such defining objectives, and influencing others to accept yours plans or ideas. These skills are important especially if I plan on starting my own practice. The leadership and negotiating skills come to together to start an entrepreneurial career.
