As a
student poised to embark on a new chapter of my life, I often sit and
reflect upon my time spent at LaGuardia Community College, the
challenges I have over come, the challenges I have yet to face, and the
goals that I have set for myself. LaGuardia Community College has
been a wonderful stepping stone on the ultimate path that will lead me
to attaining a bachelors degree in childhood education, a masters
degree in a specialty yet to be determined, an a permanent job in a
school district that can really benefit from what I have to offer.
After I have graduated from Queens College,
with Honors, I hope to begin working on my masters degree right
away. I believe that in the end, bringing both degrees with me
into the classroom will work best not only for me, but for my students
as well. I hope to be working in a school soon after completing
my masters and attaining tenure at the appropriate time and in a school
district that I feel comfortable in and confident that I am assisting
my students as much as I possibly can.
In the long-term, I hope to influence children
for years to come, becoming not only a beloved teacher and educator,
but also an adult that the students can turn to in times of need.
I believe that teachers are not only educators, but they are
counselors, mentors, nurses, shoulders to cry on, and so much
more.
When I tell people that I am pursuing a degree
in childhood education I am boastful and proud, and I know that I will
always feel that way when it comes to my teaching career.
