Welcome to My ePortfolio!

Hello everyone! My name is Andreea Amariei and I come from Romania . I would like to introduce you to my ePortfolio where I have stored my entire work throughout my life as a LaGuardia student. You will get to know me better reading my About Me page and if you want to get in touch with me you can access the Contact Me page.  If you are interested in finding out my future goals, take a look at my Career page. Reflexion on my ePortfolio

Most of the times, when people go for an interview they usually like to show some of their previous work. For instance, a painter who has painted many paintings and would like to determine someone to buy one of the paintings, he stores his work in a folder, which is usually considered a portfolio and shows it to the person interested in buying or hiring, or depending on the situation.  Nowadays, technology allows us to create websites and store the work we’ve done there.  This would be the electronic portfolio, which is easier to access and more convenient. For example, if I want to show my future employer that I am a hard-working person and I’ve improved throughout my years spent in college, I will just provide the link and he/she can view it.

I first didn’t know what that was, but then I related it with the meaning of a portfolio and I realized it was going to be electronic.  I thought it would be a great way to evaluate myself and see the stage I started out from and where I am at this moment in time.

The entire process included working with Macromedia Dreamweaver. It also included adding creating folders, naming them, uploading documents and images, and sharing the information with my professors. It also meant attending the Studio Hour classJ

It was easy to create folders and upload images or files because I have worked with this type of things before, but Macromedia Dreamweaver was new to me. However, I acknowledged the essential steps and I made it through. It required many hours of work.

We have to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses either in writing or in any kind of activity you may be doing.  To me, as a non-native speaker, it was the greatest way to see my mistakes and also the areas I’ve improved on since I started school.  The most important lesson that I was taught is that if work hard and I pay attention to my courses, I can succeed.

I am now more comfortable to link my files and with Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Creating my ePortfolio will benefit me in the future because I will have something to show my prospective employers which can see the work I have done in a different/innovative manner. The most difficult part of completing my ePortfolio is assembling all the components and putting it together seamlessly. A new way to display the work I’ve done.

I tried to keep everything simple and straight to what I was being asked to do so that I won’t create any confusion for my audience. I used a common template in order for everyone to be able to find the information and also tried to keep almost the same font so that it won’t hurt reader’s eyesJ

I would gladly recommend other students to take advantage of this chance of creating an ePortfolio because it is an easy and efficient way to store all the work throughout the college.
