Educational Goals
As a student, I hope that I could be a diligent, resourceful, smart and also street smart, humble, knowledgeable, artsy sort of an educated person. This is because I feel that even though you might be smart, knowledgeable, and artsy, but if you’re not street smart and above all else, humble, you cannot be a respected person. And that is the type of educated person that I am striving to be.
The kind of skills that are needed so that I can become my desired educated person is refined listening and observation skills, computer savvy and good interpersonal skills.
My major in LaGuardia Community College is Liberal Arts: Math and Science. The reason that I chose this major was because I used to dream of becoming a Chemistry engineer, even though my career choice has changed since then, my field of choice still remain within the mathematic and science boundary. I know that my major could only help me in achieving what I wanted to do in the future.
I am planning to transfer to either Hunter or Baruch College which are both four-year colleges after I graduated from LaGuardia at the end of this semester. I haven't really set a conceiveable goal for myself at this point, but I do know that I want to continue to maintain my high record of GPA, which thankfully so far has never dropped beyond 3.6. Needless to say I would like to graduate with my Bachelor degree but at the same time, I hope I will learn more about myself and be more sure of what I wanted to be. So far I do realize that I wanted to work with people but also utilizing my skills in scientific and mathematic fields.
In five years from now, I really hope that I would be working in a major company in New York City, depending on my major. However, I do believe in credibility and integrity, and no matter what I will become I would want to work in a company that cares for the people. Besides that, hopefully in five years, I would fully realize my dream to become a Green Card holder and be a permanent resident in USA.
