My name is Ewelina and I am a student at
LaGuardia
CC with a major in Business Administration. So far, I have taken English
101,
Pre-calculus,
Introduction to Business, Microeconomics, Business Law, Accounting 1,
Elementary
Statistics, Principles of Marketing, English 102 and Fundamentals of
Professional
Advancement. These courses give me a total of 32 credits. My current
G.P.A.
is 3.85/4.0. During this semester I am taking Accounting II, Principles
of Management, Introduction to Computers, Oral Communication and Urban
Sociology.
I love challenges where I am responsible for certain
things
to be done. I love to travel, run around the city with my notes full of
appointments
and have conversations with new people. I enjoy helping people with
their
paper work like also with creating new ideas in a team. I like to ask
and
be advised. I prefer phone calls and meetings instead of mailing and
sending
text messages.
In my major I had the opportunity to learn different
types
of business fields. My future goal is to be a successful entrepreneur
or
work for a busy company in a top position. That is why the knowledge
about
business differentiation is priceless for me right now. It helps me
finding
the career that I would like to do in the future. I really enjoy
Marketing
because it is a very powerful field where you have many possibilities to
influence
a customer’s choice. Another course that gave me a lot of satisfaction
was
Business Law. I have learned there that knowing rules and being tricky
at
the same time helps a lot to achieve a victory.
I used to work for an organization that was helping children
with developmental problems. Thanks to this experience I improved my team
work
skills. Also I was living by myself during high school in Poland. I was
taking
care of bills and my small budget. This helped me to become more
organized
and responsible for my own decisions. I do enjoy numbers so studying
higher
math during my high school developed my mathematical skills that I
would
like to use in my future career.
Even though I study full time, I work part time in
a small
bridal jewelry company. The job gives me a lot of satisfaction because
I
work as a partner for my boss. She discusses all the important aspect
of
the company with me before she makes any crucial decisions. I try to
help her
with
paper work, bills, customer service or even advertising. This job is
priceless
for me because I not only practice some of my classes from school but
also
I gain experience for my future career. After
LaGuardia
CC I would like to transfer to a 4 year college for a bachelor degree
and
working in this company practically points the fields in business that
I
could study more.
Even though I have not specified my future plans, I
always look for new challenges in a variety of fields. It improves my skills
and helps me to find out the best activity to do throughout my
life.
