Internship Learning Objectives

   During my internship, I would like to:

   Goal 1:
      Increase my communication skills in group and team interactions.

  Action Steps:

1. "Make sure I understand what I want to say before I start."
2. "Write out some key points beforehand."
3. "Be confident. Don't assume that what I have to say isn't worthwhile."
4. "Listen actively."

  Make sure I understand what the other person is trying to say in my internship and summarize
  the other group member’s contributions.

   Goal 2:
      Manage my time well and meet deadlines.

  Action Steps:

1.    "  Keep a pen and calendar handy so that I can write down things I have to do and due dates."

2.      Ask myself at the beginning of the day: Questions such as:
• What is the best thing to do today?
• How can I maximize my usage of time today?
• Will my actions bring me closer to my goals?
• Do I need to change some of my habits to hasten goal attainment?
•Try to meet the schedule due dates of assignments in the internship.

   Goal 3:
      Feel more self-confident in interactions with others and in completing work tasks.

  Action Steps:

1.    "  Communication is the key to improve my personal or business relationships in my internship."

2.    "  Pay attention: I can learn a lot about my co-workers by paying attention to their personalities and abilities."
