Hello, my name is Viviana. I am 24 years old, I am from Cali-Colombia and I have been living in the U.S for about eight years. I attended LaGuardia Community college from Spring 2005 until Summer 2007.

Something that I really like about La Guardia College was the "diversity of cultures." When I just got to La Guardia, I got very impressed to see many students from different countries. Apart from that, what I like the most was that people are always there to help you, to answer questions, to share, and enjoy their experiences with you. I think that is very important, especially when you are new and you don't know anybody.
Having the opportunity to create this ePortfolio has opened my mind more than what I have thought. I have always liked anything that has to be with creating and learning new things in my life. So, this was one of those opportunities and I would like to share it with you. I want to invite you to be part of this project and advice you to also take advantage of it and create your own ePortfolio. You will not regret it. It's an exciting experience...

After my first semester I already had new friends, I got involved in the Spanish club, salsa club and at the last semester,I got involved in the Business club. I was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, International Honor Society, which was an exciting experience. Being part of the Phi Theta Kappa really made me feel proud of myself because I was able to maintain a very good GPA of 4.00 almost during my whole first year at la Guardia and I was one of the students that appeared in the Dean's list. By that time I had already chosen my major which is Travel and Tourism. Choosing this major was one of my most exciting experiences at La Guardia. Not only because I love to travel, but because I love to serve and help other people. I like to learn about other cultures and always acquire more knowledge. Finally, even though I have visited many places including Colombia, the country that I love because I was born there, one of my dreams is to travel around the world and keep exploring those places that are still too hide. I think that there will be always something new to learn.

Peace wherever you go!

Set your goals high and don't stop until you get there!!!
