My major is Fine Arts:
Design and the careers I would like
to pursue would be along the lines of visual arts, such as display and
exhibit
design, advertising design, or graphic design.
I am interested in the Design career, but while doing research I
discovered
that it is a highly competitive field. It may help to earn a
bachelor's
degree. The skills required for this career are a keen eye for
design,
creativity, artistic ability, and interpersonal/social skills.
Since a
designer is required to keep in contact with their employer, it is
essential to
learn how to communicate with them. Job duties include discussing
design
projects with your client or employer, preparing sketches of your
designs to
present, and using computers to create finished designs.
For
me it is
important to continue my education for many reasons. The first is to
stimulate
my intellect, the second is to practice making art with experienced and
wise
professors, and the third is to get a degree so I can get a job. Next
year I
will graduate from LaGuardia with an Associate in Science degree, Fine
Arts. I
chose this major because I love to draw and paint and when I make art I
know I
was born only to experience that feeling. I would like to go get
Bachelor
Degree after getting my Associate Degree. The experience in LaGuardia
College
and in Art Student League of New York taught me how important it is for
an
artist to be in a creatively and intellectually stimulating
environment. Five
years from now I would like to be a great designer in my field.
