Educational Goals

My educational goals are to complete my education at LaGuardia Community College and transfer my credits to Brooklyn College. there I want to receive my Bachelor degree to become an Interpreter. As a Interpreter I really want to work in the Court field, any where that I can help and get involved with children and the elderly. I always had a passion to learn another language besides Spanish, or French.

A language called The American Sign Language is an interest of mine because it's so different from others, plus American Sign Language communicates with hands, facial expressions, and body language. Let me tell a little about the Deaf Culture. Dear culture is a community and in that community you interact with hard of hearing and deaf people. In the deaf culture they have a lot of community groups that are different in the deaf community. Such as one group can have all hard of hearing people, another have just deaf people and most people have to choose to be in one of though groups.

Some people in the deaf community,  use the ASL(American Sign Language) and some don't because they are embarrassed  because of their disability, so they try to fit in the Hear community to be normal. Such as engaging in the hearing community to speak like them and shun their own culture because people that are not deaf, hard of hearing don't understand what situations there in.

In addition I want to move into a Deaf community to enhance my Interpretive skills and  to observe them to be successful in my career. Hopefully,I'll return back to school and get my Master's degree. It's my passion and in the near future I want to travel around the world. To learn different ASL languages such in Brazil, Australia, Spain and Spanish because I just want to become a round Sign Interpreter and also learn something new, exciting and fun.
